Lecture at the premises of Friends of the Earth Cyprus

Yesterday, on the 21st of February Dr Milto Miltiadou gave a lecture to the public sector on “Remote Sensing and Satellite Technologies for Earth Observation and Forest Monitoring”. This lecture included an overview of state-of-art technologies and research, demonstration of interactive maps showing how earth and forests changes over seasons and years and an open discussion. The lecture was under the framework of the “FOREST” project, which is funded by the Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation with reg. no. is OPPORTUNITY/0916/MSCA/0005.
It was hosted at the premises of the sub-contractor of the project, Friends of the Earth Cyprus (http://www.foecyprus.org/), which is a non-profit, non-governmental, environmental organization, based in Limassol, Cyprus, and its goal is to raise awareness on the importance of preserving the natural environment and to campaign for solutions to environmental and social problems by promoting sustainable policies.
